The UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall is at the verge of recovering from his fatal eye injury. Deep eyes pokes faced against Ciryl Gane at UFC 321 forced him to be benched from the sport for almost 6 months and more.
The fight was declared a draw as Aspinall was forced to withdraw because of invisibile vision. He faced a lot of criticism for this decision.
But the good news is that the long lay-off is expected to come to an end soon. Aspinall aims to fight the winner of the next heavyweight battle: Alex Pereira vs Ciryl Gane. This iconic clash is scheduled to take place at the historic White House event on 14th June.
Ideally, it seems like the heavyweight champion will defend his hard-earned belt during the last leg of the year.
In a recent YouTube video, Tom shared his thoughts on making a potential comeback and spoke about his targeted opponent.
"Those two gotta fight each other. Let them do their thing first, recover from that, and when everybody's ready we'll do it."
