In the months since the devastating flooding our community experienced last July, Kerrville has been steadily moving forward. Recovery is still ongoing for many, but alongside that progress, one of our most important economic drivers, travel and tourism, has shown resilience. The data tells a clear and encouraging story: Tourism in Kerrville has not only held steady, it has evolved.
Immediately following the flood, visitation patterns shifted dramatically. July and August brought an influx of visitors unlike a typical summer season. Many came not for leisure, but with purpose. First responders, utility crews, volunteers and organizations supporting recovery efforts filled our hearts and our hotels. Our community was not filled with vacationers, but with those helping Kerrville and Kerr County rebuild. That surge was real, and it played an important role in supporting our local economy during a critical time.
