Rescued Lexington dog making ‘incredible strides’ in recovery – WKYT

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – The Lexington Humane Society provided an update about a dog who was found in critical condition and abandoned behind a dumpster.
The dog, now known as Franklin, has made “incredible strides” in his recovery, according to an update posted by the humane society, and is currently in a foster home with one of the group’s veterinary team members.
When Franklin was found in April, Lexington-Fayette Animal Care and Control said his condition was extremely serious and that his prognosis remained uncertain.
Now, the Lexington Humane Society said Franklin’s wounds are nearly healed, that he has doubled in weight and that they have begun to see his “true personality shine through.”
Franklin is also learning to trust people he does not know, the humane society said, and will need continued support and patience as he works through those challenges.
“We’re so proud of how far this resilient boy has come already, and we know he has even brighter days ahead,” the Lexington Humane Society said.
