BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) – Northland Health Centers is expanding access to addiction counseling in rural North Dakota, using a mix of telehealth and in-person clinic visits.
The health system said patients in the state can now schedule those appointments.
People who need the help will connect virtually with a counselor within one of Northland’s three clinics. Patients can not take part in the sessions from their homes.
“I feel very proud to have helped develop this program and get the licensing and meet the requirements so we can offer it to the rural public in North Dakota,” said Jennie Cornell, behavioral health director of Northland Health Centers.
This is available to North Dakota residents of all ages. In the future, the organization hopes to expand it beyond drug and alcohol evaluations and offer group services.
