MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Powerful storms wreaked havoc across the Mid-South on Tuesday night through early Wednesday morning, causing roads to flood, knocking down trees and leading to power outages.
As of Wednesday, communities across the region were still reeling.
FOX13 captured cars driving through rushing water on Elvis Presley Boulevard during the height of the storm Tuesday night. Images out of Bartlett showed flooding and ponding on several roadways.
FOX13 obtained video showing a tornado moving through Monroe County in Arkansas. This line of storms later brought a tornado warning to St. Francis County.
But the biggest impact was heavy rain.
It led to flooding across the region, including in Memphis. On Wednesday morning, drivers were still wading through flooded roadways — including at Jackson Avenue and Wales on the northeastern side of the city. There, FOX13 caught drivers taking their time as the water nearly reached the bottom of their vehicles.
The storm also knocked down trees.
FOX13 found a downed tree on Sweetbrier Road at Redfearn Cove in East Memphis. It appeared that it broke a powerline and blocked the road. Crews were on scene working on fixing the issues.

At one point Tuesday night, more than 7,000 Memphis Light, Gas and Water (MLGW) customers were without power in the city. As of Wednesday morning, under 1,900 customers were still in the dark.
Through it all, there was at least one water rescue.
In Crockett County, a group of people — including a child — were saved from flooded waters in Crockett County. Leaders in the county said it happened on Eaton Road in Friendship, Tenn.
No one was hurt, county officials said.
