Georgia wedding photographers document recovery after devastating crash – 11Alive.com

Hannah and Corey Clouser built their life around documenting love stories.
As wedding photographers, they spent their days capturing quiet moments, small glances and the in-between details that often go unnoticed.
Now, they’re telling a very different story: Their own.
Last October, the Clousers were involved in a serious crash on Georgia 400.
“We were hit, and our car ended up rolling and rotating,” Hannah Clouser said. “I was airlifted from the scene, and Corey was stuck in the car.”
Corey Clouser doesn’t remember much from that day.
“I don’t really remember the accident, but my left side is pretty messed up from it,” he said.
He suffered a traumatic brain injury and spent two months in a coma.
While Hannah recovered from a bruised lung and broken ribs, she waited for Corey to wake up.
When he did, the recovery process was just beginning.
“They get me to walk, and speech therapy was working on me talking and swallowing again,” Corey said. “I had to relearn how to do a lot.”
Corey is now continuing that recovery, working to rebuild strength, coordination and everyday skills.
For Hannah, the experience felt isolating at first.
“When this first happened for me, I was looking on TikTok and Instagram and trying to find someone else who has been through this,” she said. “Just to be able to see other people and other people my age who have had to navigate this.”
So she decided to share their journey.
Through photos and videos, Hannah began documenting the reality of recovery, not just the milestones, but the difficult days in between.
“So much of life is just about showcasing the highlight reel on Instagram,” she said. “But the beauty and so much of what matters most is not the easiest.”
The images are raw and, at times, difficult to look at. But for the Clousers, they serve a purpose.
They hope others going through similar experiences feel less alone.
Even in the middle of recovery, Corey says his focus is simple.
“I just want to be happy to go through life with her and be able to do whatever life brings,” he said.
Hannah says that perspective is part of what has always defined him.
“He’s my best friend, and he sees the world and life so beautifully,” she said. “He brings an element to photography that’s just so sweet.”
These days, Hannah is back photographing weddings most weekends.
Corey is still working toward getting back behind the camera.
Their goal is to one day return to documenting love stories together.
For now, they are taking it one step at a time, continuing to heal and continuing to share what that process really looks like, frame by frame.
