MIDLAND COUNTY, Mich. — The 42nd Circuit Court of Midland County Recovery Court Program celebrated its 100th and 101st graduation Thursday.
The program is overseen by Circuit Court Judge Michael Beale and is in its 16th year of operations.
The program is geared toward addressing the needs of non-violent adult felons with substance abuse disorders. It targets adults between the ages of 18 and 30 whose primary drug of choice is opiates or methamphetamine.
Timothy Schultz, a Midland County resident, said the program saved his life.
“I was in a really dark spot before I started it and they showed me the actual way of living and that people are truly there to help you and not just against you and to use you,” Schultz said.
While the program focuses on those adults, all of those meeting certain criteria are considered.
