EMMET COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) — Emmet County community members are recovering the Alliance Building in Petoskey. It closed after county inspectors found it to be unsafe.
Staff from the recovery center said the building on Bay Street has water and structural damage.
Officials said winter snow was one of the reasons why water leaked through the roof, which also led to mold damage.
The center said this shutdown is not a surprise and the building was closed before they got the official notice.
Recovery meetings are being held via Zoom throughout the week, with an in-person meeting on Thursday night at the Charlevoix Public Library.
