Kansas City Chiefs fans have been hoping for good news about star quarterback Patrick Mahomes since the former MVP had his 2025 regular-season campaign abruptly ended due to a serious knee injury.
Mahomes — who has led the Chiefs to three Super Bowl titles during his eight-year tenure as Kansas City’s starting quarterback — is slated to return to the field in 2026, but an exact timeline for his recovery has, to this point, been unclear.

While it remains to be seen if the Chiefs’ coaching staff will give Mahomes a chance to participate in drills during Kansas City’s offseason program, Rapoport’s in-depth update should reassure fans in Western Missouri that the star quarterback will be back in action soon.
